HÖFNER MODEL 470/S/E2 Description
- archtop hollow body, single cutaway design, selected spruce top, best quality flame maple back and sides, wooden flower inlays on back, ebony fingerboard and headstock, gold plated hardware, bound top, back, fingerboard and f-holes, 3-per-side tuners, mother-of-pearl headstock inlays (Lillies) and position markers (1 narrow rectangle flanked by 2 pentagons that resemble arrowheads), lucite pickguard, 2 pickups, late 1950s models had 2 volume and 3 sliding tone controls. Mid ´60s models had 3 sliding pickup selector switches and 2 volume and 1 tone control, available in High Polish Blonde finish, mfg. circa 1959-1994.
