HERITAGE V.I.P. (V.I.P.-1) Description
- offset double cutaway curly maple body, bolt-on mahogany neck, 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlay, tune-o-matic bridge/stop tailpiece, six-on-one-side tuners, blackface peghead with "The Heritage" logo, chrome hardware, humbucker pickup, volume/tone controls, coil tap mini toggle switch, phase or standby mini toggle switch, available in Trans. color finishes, 25.5 in. scale, mfg. 1986-1990.
In 1989, Fine Tune tailpiece, and Kahler Flyer tremolo bridge were discontinued. When both mini-switches are in the Up position, one is a coil tap switch and the other is a standby (signal on/off) switch. When both mini- switches are in the down position, the tone control becomes a Variable Phase control between the two pickup coils (0=out of phase, 10=in phase). A wide variety of tonal capabilities are thus offered to the guitarist.
