GUILD S-200 THUNDERBIRD Description
- offset double cutaway asymmetrical mahogany body with concave bottom bout, black pickguard, built-in stand, mahogany neck, 22-fret bound rosewood fingerboard with pearl block inlay, adjustable metal bridge/vibrato tailpiece, bound blackface peghead with pearl eagle/logo inlay, three-per-side tuners, chrome hardware, two single coil pickups (some with humbuckers), four knobs (two v, two tone), three pickup/one tone slide switches, available in Amber, Black, Cherry Red, Green, or Sunburst finish, mfg. 1963-1970.
The Thunderbird model featured a folding stand built into the back of the body. While a unique feature, the stand was less than steady and prone to instability. Be sure to inspect the headstock/neck joint for any indications of previous problems due to the guitar falling over.
In 1987, pickup configuration changed to two single coils/one humbucker.
