GUILD F-40 BLUEGRASS/VALENCIA Description
- small body narrow waist concert body style, solid spruce top, maple back and sides, round soundhole, two-stripe rosette, multi-ply body binding, three-piece mahogany/maple neck, 14/20-fret bound rosewood fingerboard with six or seven pearloid block inlays, blackface headstock with pearl G shield and logo inlay, three-per-side chrome tuners, rosewood bridge with white pins, tortoiseshell celluloid pickguard, available in Natural or Sunburst finish, 16 in. body width, 4.25 in. body depth, 25.5 in. scale, mfg. 1954-1963, 1973-1983.
Models produced between 1954 and 1957 do not have an inlay in the first fret. In 1957, a larger pickguard and Chesterfield headstock logo were introduced. When this model was reintroduced in 1973, it was called the Bluegrass F-40. Later models may have a maple neck.
