In late December 1984 the Nighthawk name was changed to Skyhawk due to a conflict with a Washington D.C. band of the same name. It is estimated that 269 Nighthawk-labeled instruments were produced. Early models may have ash, maple, or mahogany bodies, and maple or ebony fingerboards.
