G & L ASAT Classic Buck Owens Description
- similar to the ASAT Classic, except has a maple body, maple neck, rosewood fingerboard, bound headstock, classic style six saddle bridge, two single G&L MFD over wound pickups, three way selector switch, all hardware gold plated including pickguard, available in Red, White, and Blue painted body, neck, and headstock, gold Leo Fender signature on upper bout, only 3 known to have been built, mfg. February 1991.
The "Buck Owens" ASATs were built to be presented to Mr. Buck Owens commemorating his comeback tour at the Crazy Horse saloon. Leo Fender personally presented at least one guitar to Mr. Owens at the event with Dale Hyatt and George Fullerton attending just 3 weeks prior to Mr. Fenders passing in March of 1991.
