FENDER THE STRAT (U.S. MFG. 1980-83) Description
- offset double cutaway alder body, bolt-on maple neck, four-bolt neck plate, 21-fret maple fingerboard with black dot inlay, matching smaller headstock with "Strat" logo and six-on-one-side brass tuners, standard brass vibrato, white pickguard, three single coil pickups, two knobs (v, tone), one rotary control, five-position switch, gold hardware, available in Arctic White (1981-83), Candy Apple Red, or Lake Placid Blue finish, mfg. 1980-83.
The redesigned wiring of the Strat offers nine basic and different sounds. The Fender X-1 lead pickup had a hotter output than standard Fender single coil pickups.
