FENDER SUB-SONIC STRATOCASTER HSS (U.S. MFG. NO. 011-4530/4532) Description
- baritone configuration, alder body, 22-fret medium-jumbo fret maple (4532) or rosewood (4530) fingerboard, STB hardtail bridge, deluxe die cast sealed tuners, one humbucker and two single coil pickups, three knobs (v, two tone), special five-way switch, available in 3-Color Sunburst, Black, Hot Rod Red, or Aqua Marine Metallic finish, 27 in. scale, mfg. 2001 only.
The Sub-Sonic is meant to sound like a seven-string guitars with the feel of a six-string because the high E string is eliminated. This model was previously only available from the Fender Custom Shop.
