- four-string configuration, double cutaway body, maple neck, 24-fret fingerboard with dot inlay, four-on-one-side tuners, single diagonal pickup with plastic cover, black pickguard, two knobs, available in Sunburst or Trans. Blonde finish, mfg. 1956-1976.
In 1959, a tortiseshell pickguard and rosewood fingerboard were introduced. Between 1959 and 1970, an "Original Contour Body" decal was on the peghead. In 1972, Sunburst finish was the only available color. In 1974, a 3-ply black pickguard was introduced.
