- down-sized offset double cutaway alder body, bolt-on maple neck, 22-fret maple (9902) or rosewood (9900) fingerboard with pearl dot inlay, six-on-one-side tuners, vintage-style vibrato bridge, white aged pickguard, two Texas Special single coil and one Seymour Duncan JB humbucker pickups, three aged knobs (v, two tone), five-way switch, available in Aged Cherry Sunburst, Natural, Shoreline Gold Metallic, or Teal Green Trans. finish, mfg. 1989-1998.

This model was available with a Floyd Rose tremolo and flame maple top (Model 010-9970), and a maple neck with a flame maple top (Model 010-9972). This model is not to be confused with the Japanese-built Contemporary Stratocaster produced in the mid-1980s.
