- offset double cutaway asymmetrical ash body, bolt-on maple neck, 21-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlay, six-on-one-side tuners, floating bridge/vibrato with bridge cover, tortoise/metal or white pickguard, three single coil exposed pickups with metal rings, two knobs (v, tone), four slider switches (one on/off switch for each pickup and one low cut switch), chrome hardware, available in Sunburst or custom colors finishes, mfg. 1961-1975.

In 1963, strings mute and another 2-position switch were added, a maple fingerboard with black dot inlay was made available. In 1965, bound fingerboard with dot inlays became standard. In 1966, bound fingerboard with block inlay became standard. In 1969, Fender locking vibrato was optionally offered. In 1974, a black pickguard became standard.
