- 300W, head only, solid-state chassis, black control panel, 10 black knobs (v, b, low mid, mid, effects, 3-way equalizer, compressor), rack-mountable, built-in compressor, variable crossover, balanced line out, no covering just a metal case, mfg. 1979-82.
This was actually Fender's first solid-state amp in almost 10 years. Even though it didn't mark the start of the second line, it was released before the Second Series, and it replaced the 300PS Bass. It was a good effort and sounded decent, but it was very expensive. With the deluxe bass enclosure along with 2-15 in. speakers it cost over $1,600! It was simply too much for the public at that time.
