- single cutaway alder body, bolt-on maple neck, 22-fret maple fingerboard with black dot inlays (8400) or rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlays (8402), fixed bridge, white pickguard, two American Standard Telecaster single coil pickups, two knobs (v, tone) and a three-way pickup switch mounted on a metal plate, chrome hardware, available in Aqua Marine Metallic (1999-200), Black, Brown Sunburst (late 1980s-early 1990s, 1997-2000), Candy Apple Red (1997-2000), Caribbean Mist (disc. 1996), Frost Red (late 1980s-early 1990s), Gun Metal Blue (late 1980s-early 1990s), Inca Silver (1997-2000), Lipstick Red (disc. 1996), Metallic Purple (1999-2000), Midnight Blue (disc. 1996), Midnight Wine (disc. 1996), Natural (1999-2000), Sonic Blue (1997-2000), Sunburst, Vintage White, or White Blonde (1999-2000) finish, mfg. 1988-2000.
This was the first Telecaster of the post-CBS era to be made in the U.S. (at the Corona, CA production facility). Only the vintage series Telecasters were available between 1986 and 1987.
