- thin double rounded cutaway bound body, tune-o-matic bridge, Frequensator tailpiece, single parallelogram fingerboard inlay, mini-humbucker, two knobs (treble side), three knobs and multiple switches (bass side), multi-prong jack, 1/4 in. jack, available in Mahogany finish, 16 in. body width, mfg. 1962-66.
This guitar model was paired with the Professional model amp, which had no control knobs on the faceplate. All controls were mounted on the front of the guitar, and controlled the amp through the cable attached to the multiprong jack. The amp was rated at 15 watts, and had a 12 in. speaker. When this combination was introduced in the 1963 Epiphone catalog as the Professional Outfit (Model EA7P), the original retail price was $495. This model was also available with a large amp with a 15 in. speaker, tremolo, and reverb (Model EA8P). Refer to the Blue Book of Guitar Amplifiers for more information on the amps.
