- eight-string configuration, single cutaway solidbody with one point on each side that resembles the lower part of a violin, bolt-on maple neck with truss rod, 20-fret extended rosewood fingerboard with dot inlays, four-per-side tuners, adj. bridge, decorative tailpiece, black pickguard, one AB-4 (MB-1) or non-adj. pole (MB-2) pickup, three knobs (v, two tone), nickel hardware, available in Natural finish, mfg. late 1950s-late 1960s.
In 1964, a double cutaway body similar to the Fender Jazzmaster was introduced.
