Preamp head-unit only (power amp is in the speaker cabinet), solid-state chassis, single channel, fuzz, front black control panel with blue stripe, two inputs (high and low), nine knobs (v, t, b, variamp balance, effect, fuzz attack, fuzz gain, electronic tuning fork course, and fine), bright/normal switch, switch for tuning fork and ground rocker, black covering, mfg. 1960s-early 1970s.
The 360 was the flagship model for Acoustic. This amp is known for pumping out large amounts of bass that could be heard clearly at great distances. This amplifier (and cabinet) utilized the folded-horn cabinet design and the power-amp was built in the bottom of the cabinet with the speakers. This meant that the head only housed the preamp. With the speaker(s) mounted backwards inside of a chamber the sound directed into a giant bin creating a lot of bass in a little space. This amp was so loud that there was a warning label on the back that stated "prolonged use could lead to hearing loss." Although the 360 head is valued by itself, the head is virtually only a pre-amp without a companion speaker cabinet. Since Acoustic offered several speaker cabinets, please refer to the Speaker cabinet section for more information.
