Weber Mandolins' roots go back to the Flatiron Mandolin and Banjo company located in Bozeman, MT and founded in 1987. Gibson purchased Flatiorn shortly after and in 1996, they decided to move Flatiron production to Nashville. Bruce Weber, who was the general manager and head luthier at Flatiron, decided to stay behind and founded Sound to Earth, Ltd. to produce his own line of mandolins. In March, 1997, Weber along with four partners created a shop in Weber's barn and began producing mandolins. In 2004, Weber moved to a larger facility in Logan, MT and in 2012, Weber teamed up with Tom Bedell of Two Old Hippies (Bedell and Breedlove). In March, 2013, Weber Mandolins relocated to Breedlove's facilities in Bend, OR. Weber produces a full line of mandolins, mandolas, mandocellos, resonators, and archtop guitars.
