Espanola was a trademark used on a line of mandolins and other acoustic instruments imported by the V.J. Rendano Company. Models were based on traditional A- and F-style bodies and they also offered a bowl back design. While most instruments were built overseas, the V.J. Rendano catalog indicated that the MD-1 was made in Mexico.
Mandolins previously produced in Korea and Mexico during the 1990s. Distributed by V.J. Rendano Music Company, Inc. in Youngstown, OH.
