This was the first dedicated series developed for solid-state. This happened when Jennings sold Vox to Royston and they were looking to get into the solid-state market. The 7 series were designed for guitar amps and the 4 series were for bass amps. These amps were used by a few endorsers, but the overall market rejected them and were discontinued shortly thereafter. The circuitry between the 4 and 7 Series are very similar, and there are four variations for each line. Many of these amplifiers were sold and distributed in England and never made it over to North America.
