ELECTRIC SS AMPLIFIERS: TRANSONIC SERIES

Bob Rissi, who worked for Fender and designed their first solid-state amps, designed the Transonic Series for Rickenbacker in the mid- to late 1960s. These were not very popular at the time because of their complexity, price, and the fact that they were solid-state. Today, they are very collectible, and bring the most money of any Rickenbacker amps - tube or solid-state. A Transonic 70 without fuzz and basic controls and only 2-12 in. speakers was also available.
