These are Marshall "Rack amps." By the late '80s, a variety of people wanted a variety of products, even though the Marshall stack was still the standard. The Rack system was used by musicians that wanted to put all of their effects along with an amp into a rack box. This way there could be several effects within reach. There were some models that were strictly preamps, and there were models that were the power amps. The prototype was announced at the 1989 NAMM show, but the product was dramatically altered before it was released. All of the models were in black cases, 19 in. wide for rack-mounts, and labeled 9000. The first of this series ran through 1993 when a couple new models were released. The Models 9010 and 9030 were prototypes that were advertised, but never put into production.
