ELECTRIC TUBE AMPLIFIERS: 50W SERIES (1966-1981)

This series was introduced in 1966 and is an updated version of the JTM45. There were some tube changes amongst other electronics inside the amp, while the cosmetics on the outside changed as well. In 1967, the "JTM 50" and "MK II" labels had been replaced by JTM. In 1968, the steel chassis was introduced and the initials JMP (Jim Marshall Products) were added. In 1969, the Plexiglas panel were changed to gold aluminum. It should be noted that in the price lines, 1969 refers to models having Plexi panels and 1970 for the aluminum, even though an aluminum amp may have been produced in 1969. This series was discontinued in 1981, when the JCM-800 series was introduced.

Add 25-50% for covering colors other than black.

MODEL 1964 50W LEAD/BASS

- 50W, head unit only, lead and bass application, tube chassis: preamp: 3 X 7025, power: 2 X 6550/EL34, solid-state rectifier, two channels, front control panel, four inputs, six knobs (p, b, m, t, v1, v2), black levant covering, mfg. 1973-76.

This is the head-unit configuration of the Model 2100.

MODEL 1985 50W PA

This is the PA version of the Model 1987 Lead.

MODEL 1986 50W BASS

- 50W, head-unit only, bass application, tube chassis, preamp: 3 X 7025, power: 2 X 6550/EL34, two channels, front control panel, four inputs, six knobs (p, b, m, t, v1, v2), black Levant covering, mfg. 1966-1981.

This is the Bass version of the Model 1987 Lead. Early models between 1966 and 1969 featured Plexi control panels.

MODEL 1987 50W LEAD

This model came from the original JTM 45 series. Tremolo was available as an option until 1975.

Model 1987S Reissue 50W Lead

- first reissue of the Model 1987 lead, mfg. 1988 only.

This reissue was available with a matching 4-12 in. cabinet with Celestion G12 75 speakers, and 70s Chequerboard cloth.

MODEL 1989 50W ORGAN

- similar design to the Model 1987, except designed for organ applications, mfg. 1966-1975.

This model also came with tremolo as an option and sold as the Model T1989.
