ELECTRIC TUBE AMPLIFIERS: 2000 SERIES (1981)

In April 1981, Marshall released new workhorse amps that had output of over 200W. At this time, these were the most powerful Marshalls built. Input for these amps came from many rock personalities, including AC/DC. These amps produced lots of power, and had features that many traditional Marshalls never fooled with. The 2000 series never caught on for a number of reasons, including their weight, cost, and technology that no one really knew how to use them. Only a few hundred are known to exist. These amps would evolve into the JCM-800 series to be released later in 1981.
