ELECTRIC: CELEBRITY SERIES

Celebrity Series instruments feature a semi-hollow body, and 2 f-holes. The Celebrity Series featured the CE I, CE II deluxe version and the CE III economical version. Vibrato bridges were offered on each model for an additional $30 (retail list).

CELEBRITY I (MARK I, CE I, # 202)

- arched top and back, 2.75 in. body depth, semi-hollow double cutaway body, spruce top, maple back/sides, double body binding, 2 bound f-holes, maple neck, 24.5 in. scale, zero fret, 22-fret bound rosewood fingerboard, roller bridge/vibrato tailpiece, 3-per-side deluxe chrome tuners, chrome hardware, 2 black single coil pickups with exposed pole pieces, volume/tone controls, white "apostrophe" plastic controls plate on lower bout, available in Transparent Cherry Red, or Transparent Sunburst finish, mfg. 1966-69.
In 1968, Cherryburst, Deep Black, Metallic Blue, Metallic Red, and Pearl White finishes were introduced.
