The Musician Series of guitars and basses were some of the first original designs to be produced during the post lawsuit era. The first series of Musician guitars featured a symmetrical double cutaway body with a slight offset, sandwich wood bodies, Super 77 and Super 88 pickups, Sure-Grip knobs, and a variety of electronics and controls. The first series ran between 1978 and 1980, and in 1981, the second series of Musician guitars was introduced. These guitars featured a slightly different body shape and Super 58 covered humbucker pickups. The second series lasted through 1982.
