The GB Series was co-designed by George Benson. The first model, the GB10, was introduced on June 11, 1977. The GB20, which featured a 16 in. body width was released shortly thereafter. The GB30 was introduced in 1985, and the special GB12 (celebrating the 12th Anniversary of the GB10) was introduced in 1990. There have been several other George Benson models released since, and the GB Series represents Ibanez's longest running signature model. The handcarved GBY2K Masquerade was produced in 2000.
