- single round cutaway hollow body, arched laminated maple top, laminated figured maple back/sides, four-ply top and back binding, two bound f-holes, maple neck, 21-fret bound rosewood fingerboard with ivoroid block inlay, bound black face headstock with Gretsch logo and three-per-side Grover Statite tuners, Melita bridge, "G" trapeze tailpiece, raised bound tortoise pickguard, two DeArmond single coil pickups, three knobs on lower treble bout, gold hardware, available in Cadillac Green (Model 6196), Natural (Model 6193), and Sunburst (Model 6192) finish, 17 in. body width, mfg. 1951-1981.
The Electro II Cutaway model has slightly different appointments than the Country Club. These include simpler bindings, a Synchromatic logo on the headstock, block inlays, and a harp tailpiece. This model was renamed the Country Club in 1954 and a three-way pickup selector switch was added to the upper bass bout, a Melita bridge, trapeze tailpiece, more elaborate bindings, humptop block inlays, and Cadillac Green finish were introduced. In 1955, a raised gold pickguard with logo was introduced and raised black pickguards may also be found. In 1956, peghead truss rod cover was introduced. In 1958, PAF Filter' Tron humbucker pickups, and style 2 controls were introduced. In 1959, Grover Imperial tuners were introduced. In 1960, a thinner 1.875 in. body depth replaced the 3.375 in. body depth. In 1963, the body was changed back to a thicker 2.875 in. design, and a padded back, zero fret, string mute with dial knob, and standby switch were all introduced. In 1965, the string mute and dial were discontinued. In 1968, Cadillac Green finish was discontinued. In 1971, this model was renumbered Model 7575 in Sunburst and Model 7576 in Natural. In 1974, a raised gray pickguard with engraved logo, block fingerboard inlay, adjustamatic rosewood bridge, trapeze tailpiece with logo engraved black plastic insert, and a new control layout with four knobs on the lower treble bout, one knob on the upper treble bout, and one switch on the upper bass bout. In 1975, Antique Stain (Model 7577) finish was introduced, and the Sunburst finish (Model 7575) was discontinued. In 1979 only, Walnut finish (Model 7577) was available.

In 1960, Filter'Tron pickups that are identical in appearance to regular Filter'Tron pickups and four switches on the upper bass bout were introduced.
