- offset double cutaway hardwood body, bolt-on maple neck, 24-fret maple fingerboard with black offset dot inlay (or rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlay), double locking vibrato, blackface peghead with screened logo, 6-on-a-side tuners, black hardware, single coil/humbucker ESP pickups, volume control, 3-position switch, available in Black, Brite Yellow, Candy Apple Red, Dark Metallic Blue, Fluorescent Pink, or Snow White finish, mfg. 1989-1991.
In 1990, Pearl White and Turquoise finishes were introduced; Brite Yellow, Fluorescent Pink, and Snow White finishes were disc. In 1991, Dark Metallic Purple and Gunmetal Blue finishes were introduced; Turquoise finish was disc.

- similar to the Maverick, except has ash body, 24-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlay, 2 ESP humbucker pickups, available in Brite Red, Brite Yellow, Flour. Pink, Flour. White, Gunmetal Blue, or Midnight Black finish, mfg. 1988 only.
The neck position pickup was a stacked humbucker.
