ELECTRIC ARCHTOP: EMPEROR SERIES

The Emperor contemporary re-issue model was introduced in 1982, as the Emperor (F) and the Emperor (T) models (available in Antique Sunburst). In 1992, Natural finish was introduced; in 1993, the Emperor II (Model ETE2) preempted the Emperor. Two years later, jazz guitar great Joe Pass "adopted" the Emperor II as his signature model. The silk-screened signature on the pickguard began on models produced in 1995 (but models produced from 1992 to 1994 would not have this silk-screened logo on the pickguard). Epiphone´s "Imperial Collection" model Emperor 1930s (Model EIEM) was introduced in 1993. This premium model was built in Japan. The Emperor 1930s was renamed Emperor Re-Issue in 1994, but did not last into 1995 (last retail list was $3,100).
