- thin double cutaway body, laminated top, multiple body binding, bound rosewood fingerboard with block inlay and "Custom" on end of neck, zero fret, ebony adjustable bridge/trapeze tailpiece with Caiola Model inlaid in trapeze insert, bound peghead, peghead inlay, two mini-humbucker pickups, two volume controls, five switches, pickup selector switch, available in Black, Walnut, or Yellow Sunburst finish, 16 in. body width, 25.5 in. scale, mfg. 1963-1970.
In 1965, Tune-O-Matic bridge replaced old bridge. In 1966, Ciaola was renamed the Ciaola Custom. From 1968-1970, Walnut finish was only available.

In 1968, Cherry and Sunburst finishes were introduced.
