CLASSICAL: CONCERT (C/CG) SERIES

Yamaha has produced several standard/concert-grade classical guitars, but unfortunately, we only have documentation on a handful of them. All models since 1990 are listed and a few from the late 1960s and early 1970s appear below as well. However, without any factory catalogs or specifications, we are unable to list all of them. If you have information, catalogs, or specifications on any Yamaha classical guitar that is not listed, please submit directly to Blue Book Publications.

C40/CG40A

- classical-style body, spruce top, round soundhole with wood pattern rosette, Jelutong, Indonesian mahogany, or Meranti back and sides, nato neck, 14/19-fret rosewood, Javanese rosewood, or Sonokeling fingerboard, slotted headstock, three-per-side open-style chrome tuners, rosewood, Javanese rosewood, or Sonokeling tied bridge, available in Natural finish, 25.6 in. scale, mfg. 1993-present.

This model was labeled the CG-40A when it was initially released. The C40 is also available as a package (MSR $251) that includes a gig bag, method book, and an instructional DVD.

CS40
