ACOUSTIC: THINLINE SERIES

The Taylor T-5 Thinline is a fine line between an acoustic and electric guitar. It has a full hollow-body, but has an exposed pickup. There are body sensors (not piezo's) inside to amplify sound. The result of all this creates an electric/acoustic instrument with endless tonal possiblities.

In 2013 Taylor debuted the new T5z line. Designed with electric players in mind, the T5z brings more of an electric guitar look and feel to the popular hollowbody hybrid electric-acoustic T5 series. The T5z series guitars feature a more compact body than the original T5, a 12-inch fretboard radius and jumbo frets.

- single cutaway thinline hollow Sapele body, Sitka spruce top, two split f-holes, multi-layer binding, Tropical American mahogany neck, 21-fret bound ebony fingerboard with micro dot inlays, ebony overlaid headstock, three-per-side tuners, ebony bridge, single exposed pickup, body sensors, three knobs, five-way switch, chrome plated hardware, available in Black, Blue Sunburst, Honey Sunburst, Red Edgeburst, Tobacco Sunburst, or Trans. T5 CLASSIC

- single cutaway thinline hollow Sapele body, Ovangkol top, two split unbound f-holes, Sapele neck, 21-fret ebony fingerboard with small diamond inlays, ebony headstock overlay, three-per-side tuners, ebony bridge, three total pickups: under-fingerboard neck humbucker, visible bridge humbucker, and acoustic body sensor mounted to the inside surface of the top, three knobs, five-way switch, chrome plated hardware, available in Natural finish, 24.875 in. scale, gig bag included, mfg. 2010-2019.

In 2014 the T5 Classic switched from an Ovangkol top to a Tropical Mahogany top.

- similar to the T5 S Standard, except has Taylor Artist T-5 fingerboard inlays and gold hardware, available in Blue Edgeburst, Cherry Sunburst, Honey Sunburst, Red Edgeburst, Trans. Black Edgeburst, or Tobacco Sunburst finish, mfg. 2005-2019.

In 2014 the T5 Custom switched from a Sitka Spruce top to a Flamed Maple top. In 2016 the T5 Custom switched to a Flamed Koa Top.
