ACOUSTIC: ROAD SERIES

The Road Series represented Martin's most affordable all-wood guitars for many years. Guitars feature solid spruce tops, three-ply laminated mahogany or rosewood back and sides, and are available in a variety of configurations. The DM was the first Road Series guitar to debut in 1996 and several other models were introduced during the late 1990s and early 2000s. By the mid-2000s, Martin had thinned out their entry-level guitars and merged the diminishing 1 Series with the Road Series. Since these two series were so similar, they discontinued the entire 1 Series by 2006 and continued on with the Road Series through mid-2009. In mid-2009, Martin reintroduced the 1 Series and discontinued the Road Series, but the Road Series was reintroduced in 2011 with the DRS1.
