ACOUSTIC: BACKPACKER SERIES

The Backpacker Travel Guitar was developed by luthier/designer Bob McNally in 1992. Backpackers have shown up in the most unusual of places, from the Space Shuttle to the Himalayas! Models are currently produced in Martin´s Mexican facility located in Navojoa, Sonora, Mexico.

Add 50% (MSR $469) for factory installed Martin 332 Thinline bridge pickup.
Add 50% for factory installed System 1 pickup (Classical Backpacker only, disc. 2004).

- thin travel-style "paddle-shaped" body, solid spruce top, solid wood back and sides, round soundhole, one-piece mahogany neck, 15-fret hardwood fingerboard with white dot inlays, three-per-side chrome mini tuners, hardwood bridge, white bridge pins with black dots, available in Natural finish, 24 in. scale, mfg. 1992-present.
In the early 2000s, the Backpacker was upgraded with a slightly reshaped body, wider headstock, and the Martin logo was moved from beneath the fingerboard to the traditional place on the headstock.
