The Elite series guitars were designed to combine the classic Stratocaster design with active electronics and a revised tremolo system with "drop-in" string loading.

- offset double cutaway alder body, bolt-on maple neck, 21-fret maple fingerboard with black dot inlay, six-on-one-side tuners, Freeflyte vibrato, white pickguard, three single coil covered Alnico II pickups, three knobs (v, two tone), three push-button pickup selectors, active MDX (mid-range) and TBX (high-range) electronics, chrome hardware, available in Aztec Gold, Candy Apple Green, Emerald Green, Mocha Brown, Pewter, Ruby Red, Sapphire Blue, or Stratoburst finish, mfg. 1983-84.
This instrument was also available with rosewood fingerboard with pearl dot inlay. The output jack was located on the side of the body (instead of the top), and had no rear cover for the drop-in tremolo bridge. There was a backplate for access to the 9-volt battery (required for the active electronics).
