Star amplifiers were designed by Mark Sampson of Matchless and SMF notoriety. Sampson has been involved in guitar amplifiers since the early 1980s, and has been building amps since the late 1980s when he started Matchless. Star amps are built on all the knowledge Samson has learned over the years, and the result are some of the best Class A amps on the market. All Star amps have Class A tube chassis, Teflon coated point-to-point wired chassis (no circuit boards), tube rectifiers, and other quality building features.
