Ian Schneller started using the Specimen Products name in 1981 on art pieces and sculptures. In 1984, he started to build custom guitars and basses, and in 1994, he introduced tube amplifiers. Schneller is best-known for his Horn Amp, which is reminiscent of early record players with the large horn-style speaker. He also builds a variation of this amp as a speaker only for instrument or hi-fi applications. Prices start at $5,000 for the Horn Amp and $2,300 for a single Horn Speaker.
