Savage Audio was started by Jeff Krumm in his basement in 1991. Since then, the company has evolved into an amp fix-it shop where they specialize in tube amps but they also fix solid-state models as well. The repair shop at Savage Audio can do almost anything from repair, to rebuilding, to restoration. In 1994, Krumm started building Savage-branded tube amps, becoming an early player in the boutique niche. The Macht 6 is actually based on the original design of the DeArmond amplifier, and the Blitz 50 is designed after the Marshall Bluesbreaker. Notable artists include Beck, Doyle Bramhall, Peter Buck, Jeff Tweedy, and Adam Levy. For more information, visit Savage's website or contact them directly.
Amplifiers currently produced in Savage, MN (a suburb of Minneapolis) since 1994.
