Sano was founded by ex-Ampeg amp builder, Stanley Michael. Everett Hull, the founder of Ampeg, and Stanley went different ways in 1948. In 1952, Stanely helped develop the Sano Accordion Pickup and Matched Amplifier, which was distributed by the Major Music Company in Irvington, NJ. Stanley took his experience from Ampeg and applied it to his new company. The first amps released were accordion models, just like they had been at Ampeg. In the late 1950s, Sano introduced several amplifiers and produced them into the 1960s. Information courtesy: Gregg Hopkins and Bill Moore, Ampeg: The Story Behind the Sound.
Amplifiers previously produced in New Jersey in the 1960s.
