Maestro was used by Gibson on their accordion amplifiers in the late 1950s and 1960s. Although they are listed as separate brands, there are many similarities between the two. They were listed in the same catalog, numbered the same as Gibson amps, and entered in the Gibson shipping ledger with all other Gibson amps. Gibson designated Maestro amps as accordion models, but most models had inputs for guitars anyway. When amp production moved out of Kalamazoo in 1967, Maestro production was discontinued. However, Maestro has appeared on other models in the 1970s. For information on Gibson amplifiers, see Gibson. Information courtsey George Gruhn and Walter Carter, Gruhn's Guide to Vintage Guitars.
