Johnson is a trademark used by the Music Link in the U.S. Johnson amplifiers (as well as guitars and other related accessories) are produced overseas and imported into the U.S. and other countries. Early efforts were aimed at the student or entry-level guitarists, but they have expanded recently with tube amplifiers and a half-stack unit.
