ALAMO

Alamo was founded around 1947 by Charles Eilenberg. He started the company Southern Music in San Antonio, Texas, and began making guitars and amplifiers. By 1950, the company was producing instrument cases, tube amplifiers, and lap steel guitars. Alamo continued to produce tube amplifiers throughout the fifties and sixties. In 1970, they stopped producing tube amps and jumped on the solid-state bandwagon. The company produced amps and guitars through the 1970s when the company folded in 1982.
