Airline was a house brand name used for Montgomery Wards during the late 1950s and most of the 1960s. Most of these amps were built by Harmony, Kay, and Valco. These amps were simply styled a little different than their Harmony, Kay, or Valco counterparts and an Airline logo was affixed to the outside. In some instances the same amp may appear with three or four different brand names! Individual models are not listed because of the inconsistancy in Airline history - the only account of these models appear in Montgomery Wards catalogs! As far as values, these amplifiers were typically budget models, although many are of very high quality. Nonetheless, they do not command a premium in today's used marketplace. Most models are valued between $150 and $400 depending on features and condition.
Amplifiers previously produced by various manufacturers including Harmony, Kay, and Valco. Distributed by Montgomery Wards througout their retail stores and catalogs. See chapter on House Brands.
