PLUSH

Plush was founded circa 1968 in New York City, and they built mainly tube amps that were covered in a variation of the Tuck N' Roll covering Kustom was famous for using. This covering has been found in several variations, but the most common appears to be a criss-cross pattern with buttons in the junctions, similar to the pattern found in older couches, loveseats, chairs, etc. In 1971, they opened a new factory in California and by 1974, they filed Chapter 11 bankruptcy. There is also a lot of speculation that Plush Amplifiers and Earth Sound Research (ESR) are one in the same company. The theory is Plush started out building amplifiers in New York, they built a second factory on the west coast in Los Angeles, and as the east-coast factory went under, the amps in the west-coast were renamed Earth Sound Research. Currently, there is no proof that Plush and ESR were the same company, built the same amps, or operated in the same building.
