LECTROLAB

Lectrolab was originally a trademark/brand of amplifiers produced in the 1960s. While Lectrolab's origins are relatively unknown, it is speculated that they were their own company and not built by another amp manufacturer as some have suggested. Labels on the inside of various Lectrolab amps read: Lectrolab: Sound Projects, Chicago, Illinois, Venice, Florida" suggesting they were built in the U.S. These amps were available in 400, 600, 800, and 900 series with the higher number indicating higher wattage and features, and they were all offered with tube chassis. In the mid-2000s, the Lectrolab brand was revived as a reissue line built by Jim Benedict in Michigan. However, many customers reported quality issues with the new Lectrolab amps, and Benedict appears to not be building any more amps.
