HOLMES

Holmes built a variety of mainly solid-state amplifiers from the late 1970s through the late 1980s and possibly into the early 1990s. Harrison Holmes founded the company and they were reportedly first built in Greensboro, NC. In the 1980s, On-Site Music bought the company and changed the name to The Holmes Corporation. They also moved to Greensville, MS in the 1980s and went out of business in the late 1980s or early 1990s. Older models should have a logo with all capital letters, while newer models should have a logo with all lower-case letters and a large lower-case "h." James Lomenza of White Lion endorsed Holmes amps during the 1980s as well. Although Holmes put out several models, they seem to be best-known for their Tech Series line of amps.
