DIAZ

Cesar Diaz was a native of Puerto Rico, and he was involved in the music business since he was six years old. He came to the United States with Johnny Nash in 1969 where he became one of the best "amp doctors" for many musicians including Stevie Ray Vaughan, Eric Clapton, and Keith Richards. He was also the amp technician for Bob Dylan (Dylan's guitarist G.E. Smith, who was Diaz's long time friend), and later the guitar player in Dylan's band. Cesar left Dylan in 1993 to concentrate on making Diaz amps. Diaz amplifiers were hand-built tube amplifiers previously made by Cesar Diaz himself. Several musicians who own and use Diaz amps including Billy Gibbons, Jimmy Vivino, R.E.M., Collective Soul, Joan Osborne. Diaz also produced effects pedals including a tremolo device called the Tremodillo. Cesar Diaz passed away on April 26, 2002. In late 2002, Diaz Musical Products began producing amplifiers and pedals again and they are currently offering a full line of gear.
