Like many guitar/amp manufacturers, Dean started out building guitars in 1977. By the late 1980s, a majority of their guitar production was located in Japan and they began catering more to student/entry-level guitar players. As their instruments became more popular in the early 1990s, they decided to introduce a line of amplifiers. The first amplifiers appeared in the early 1990s, but they did not become a steady fixture in the Dean line until circa 1998. They currently offer electric, bass, and acoustic amplifiers in a variety of configurations that are targeted to the student or entry-level guitar player. For a complete history on Dean, refer to the Blue Book of Electric Guitars. For more information on Dean products, visit their website or contact them directly.
Amplifiers previously produced in Japan, Korea, or China since 1998 (earliest models produced in the early 1990s). Distributed by Armadillo Enterprises in Tampa, FL, previously located in Clearwater, FL.
