WILKINS GUITAR FINISHES/PAT WILKINS CUSTOM GUITARS

Luthier Pat Wilkins has been acknowledged as a premier finisher of quality instruments since the mid-1980s. Some of his handiwork can be viewed on such models as the U.S. produced Pacifica models for Yamaha, as well as his namesake handcrafted models.
After moving to California, Wilkins joined Schecter Guitar Research in 1977 as wood shop foreman and eventually moving over to the guitar shop itself where he finished and built Schecter Guitars. Later in the mid-1980s, Wilkins formed Wilkins Guitar Finishes and joined forces with former Schecter president Bill Ricketts and ex-Zion Guitars luthier Kenny Marshall in custom-building limited production guitars and basses. The OFB Guitars custom models were built in Portsmouth, Virginia.
Wilkins' former models feature bolt-on neck, tilt-back headstocks, locking machine heads, numerous different pickup combinations, and spectacular finishes. Circa 2005, Wilkins introduced a full line of guitars and bass guitars. These guitars are built in Van Nuys at the same place finishes are applied. Models are based on the Stratocaster (WRS), Telecaster (WRT), Jazzmaster (WJZ), Jazz bass (WJJ) and Precision Bass (WPB). Prices for guitars start at $3,400 and basses start at $4,400. Circa 2012, Wilkins introduced a new line of affordable basses and guitars manufactured in Van Nuys, Ca with parts manufactured in the USA. These new models are RTJB, RTPB, RTS, RTT and RTJZ.
