Luthier Thomas Metz has been handcrafting high quality solid and semi-solid electric guitars for a number of years. The distinctive feature of the Tommy´s Special Guitars model is the systematic respect for the wood and physical sound properties. Each instrument is the technical synthesis of these characteristics. Metz's basic model features an alder, ash or mahogany Strat- or Tele-style body, rock maple neck with rosewood fingerboard, chrome tuners, tunomatic bridge/stop tailpiece (or vintage-style Gotoh tremolo), and EMG pickups. Custom options include a semi-acoustic body with quilted maple top, carved quilted maple top, or bird's-eye maple neck.
Instruments currently built in Viersen, Germany. Previously distributed in the U.S. by Salwender International of Orange, CA. Distributed in Europe by Tommy´s Special Guitars of Viersen, Germany.
